My very dear and special Leahy family! I can't begin to express how very close and important your family was to me as I was growing up, and still continues to be. I always felt loved and included as one of the "siblings". I can hear James' quiet snicker and still see the twinkle in his eye. Though we have drifted apart as time has passed, each and everyone one of you I hold in a very special place in my heart. I pray for God's peace to be with you through this very difficult time and know that your Mom is holding James close to her at this very minute and smiling down with her bountiful love on all of you. I wish I could be there on Saturday to hug, cry and laugh with each of you. Know that you will be on my mind and in my prayers that day. I love you all! Angie

I was very sad when I heard about James passing. I have a lot of great memories of playing hockey and hanging out with both James and Leo in Vermilion. James and I sat had our stalls next to each other in the Tigers dressing room. It was always fun to make him laugh and I remember his kindness and gentle spirit. We had a lot of fun together James. Thanks for the good times. You will be missed.

firstly i truly am sorry for the lost of your father,brother,uncle,cousin,of who was a great friend ,a loyal buddy,i got alot of memories of us chilling together,but one really sticks out and that is our great times we had on the ice or on the road in front of our houses playing hockey,(10) we often use to fight when on oppusite teams but quickly make up as daylight was a factor growing up in the north.this one hockey playoffs was a special as the late mr. leahy (fatdaddy)put a challange up for all the team and that was a challange no one forgot (one fatdaddys special with every goal)we were the champions of the north and we came back home proud and our town was proud of all of us .i didnot get alot of goals like some of the boys .so james would share his winnings with myslef.he was a sharp shooter,so this story i have told my son (lincoln)about the great team we had in ft.simpson,the champions we are.the story holds true to his kindness,we never stayed in touch over the past ten years but we always held a special place within and always a friend,i take this time to say goodbye to my friend and we will see each other on the other side buddy. my thoughts &prayers are with his family may god bless all and keep u out of harms way
