Obituary of John Matthew McLeod

On April 20, 2010 John McLeod, formerly of Mannville, Alberta, passed away in Edmonton at the Touchmark at Wedgewood Health Services Neighborhood at the age of 90 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Ruth; three children, Betty (Ron) Meads of Spruce Grove, Donna (John) Williston of Yellowknife and Merven (Roberta) of Mesa, Arizona; his eight grandchildren, Casey, Luke, and Tanner Meads, Megan and Sierra Williston, Jade, Schae and Chase McLeod and his only surviving sister, Irene (Clive) Dorey. He was predeceased by an infant daughter in 1950, two sisters, Mary Thompson, Jean McLeod and an infant brother, in 1919. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24th at the Chapel of Howard & McBride Westlawn, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton. Memorial donations in John’s name may be made to the Canadian Assoc. for Community Living, an association that advocates for those with an intellectual disability.
