Wayne Robert Lyonnais passed away on March 29, 2025, leaving behind a life well-lived and a legacy of love and kindness. Born on January 26, 1951 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, he was the cherished son of Bertha Lyonnais (nee Drew) and the late Wilfrid Lyonnais.
Wayne will forever be remembered as a devoted brother to Larry (Lynn), Roy (Louise), Stephen (Rachel), and Lorie (Scott) Acheson. He was a loving father to Jason, Natasha, and Joseph. A proud grandfather to Teagan, Brayden, Jamieson, Adria, Drayson, Emery, Michael, and Kasey, and a joyful great-grandfather to Auvyanna. He will also be deeply missed by his uncles, aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many close friends.
An accomplished athlete and popular figure during his school years, Wayne’s infectious warmth, generosity, and unwavering support endeared him to family and friends alike. At 18, he ventured out west to work on a farm and later embarked on a successful career in the oil industry, working overseas for many years. Rising to the position of supervisor, Wayne traveled the world, experiencing places such as Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Portugal, and Bangkok. His passion for his work and his global adventures provided him with countless fascinating stories to share.
Wayne also had a love for cooking, entertaining, and enjoying good food, always bringing people together with his hospitality and charm. His kind heart and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Special gratitude is extended to Wayne’s brother Stephen, sister-in-law Rachel, son Jason, and dear friends Ken, Terry, Larry, and Toby for their love and unwavering support.
An intimate graveside service and celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the spring. In honor of his memory, donation’s may be made to Parkinson Canada.
Wayne will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
