Obituary of Charman Elizabeth Hawkins
Charman Elizabeth Hawkins passed away while visiting her father's home in Vermilion, Alberta, on Tuesday the 27th of January, 2026, at the age of 54.
Charman was born on the 19th of January, 1972, in Mannville, Alberta to Arnold and Lucille Hawkins. She lived her life to the fullest of her abilities, with a heart that accepted everyone, but which eventually failed her as she grew tired.
Many of you know that Charman loved animals, gardening, and refurbishing old furniture. But her proudest moment was bringing her little girl Kristine into the world, who later blessed Charman in turn with two grandsons, Brody and Mason, whom she bore to Charman's son-in-law, Shane.
The love of Charman's life was her beloved common law husband, Michael Allan Putman, who has lived by her side since 2005.
Charman worked in the oil industry for 15 years, and was studying to become a power engineer when she passed away.
She had a huge heart and never wanted to let anyone down. She was always there to lend a hand if you needed it. She was determined, never complained, and took her challenges head on.
We were very proud to call her wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunty. She is survived by: her father Arnold Hawkins; her daughter, Kristine; her husband Michael Putman; her son-in-law Shane Kuntz and their children Brody and Mason; her sister Suzanne and brother-in-law Tom and their daughter Maylene; her brother Willy Hawkins, and numerous others.
Charman was predeceased by her son Daniel Kenneth Hawkins Kam, her mother Lucille Hawkins, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
The memorial will be a private ceremony for close family and friends.
