Dedicated to wellness, birthing babies, elder care, sailing, travel, theatre, music in every mode; they lived very fulfilling lives in every community. Always remembered with fond memories in Barrhead, Fairview, the ski hills; Stella Wowk.

I will always remember and be grateful for Dr Stewart Hunter. Although never having met before, he spent close to an hour speaking to me about my apprehension over an upcoming surgery and answered all my questions, etc. When I called him at home and thanked him for taking my call, he was so gracious and just said, "any friend of Ann and Peter's, is a friend of mine". I was also, years later, fortunate enough to have met this wonderful man once with Ann. The world will miss such a man!

Dr Stewart-Hunter and his wonderful wife took care of me in the late eighties when I had my two kids. I loved them both so much, they were so supportive to a very young mom and dad. Year and years later, he treated my dying father, comforted him, chatted with him, "stole" equipment so we could keep in him Mannville Hospital till he passed, AND, support myself, my sister and my brother and Mom throughout my Dads long painful passing. He will never be forgottten in Vermilion. He touched so many with his kindness and love.

I am grateful to have known this fine gentleman and doctor. He delivered our two youngest children and cared for my father in law during his last days. Caring, funny, interesting, wise, creative and so much more, he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of spending time with him. Our heartfelt sympathy to his family and closest friends. Your Father & Grandfather was a gentleman who worked in Health Care for over seven years. He dedicated his life to helping people with pain control, palliative and geriatrics care and delivered many little people (babies) into this world. He was an avid reader, painter and story teller. He made house calls, donations to many charities and excelled in empathy to Seniors. Our deepest sympathy in your loss. Irene & Cliff Teasdale.

I meant in my last message he served over seventy (70 years) in Health Care.. He was there for me & my family when my Mom passed. I have always appreciated his loving care. Will miss him.

I first met Dr. Stewart Hunter in roughly 1975 in Swan Hills, AB when he was practicing in Barrhead, AB. I totally loved him but in 1976 he delivered our daughter Julie in Barrhead. It was a difficult birth until he got there and used the delivery as a learning experience for all nurses that weren’t occupied with other tasks. The technique he used was what he had gotten his specialist papers in in England - he said the forceps he used could get a melon out of a bottle. He was my hero! He also told me to not have any more babies until he at least had retired! I have kept to that - my only disappointment was that though we have lived in Lloydminster for over 30 years, we never once ran into this great person since. RIP Dr. Hunter.
