Obituary of William Alfred Sheffield

On Friday January 21, 2022, William (Bill) Alfred Sheffield passed away at the Long Term Care facility of the Wainwright Hospital at the age of 91 years. Bill was born in Wainwright, Alberta on September 30, 1930 to Fred and Ivy Sheffield. Bill was a dedicated Public Works foreman for the Town of Wainwright until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing hockey. Bill leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters Jennifer Gaetzman of Calgary, Deborah Sheffield of Leduc; grandchildren Trina (Jamie) Gaetzman-Massey of Amherstview, Ontario and Robyn Gaetzman of Calgary; brothers Max (Pauline) Sheffield of Edgerton and Douglas (Joan) Sheffield of Kelowna; sisters Gail Neff of Sicamous and Sandy Moen of Salmon Arm; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Daisy (Margaret); son Michael; parents Fred & Ivy; father and mother in-law Wilse & Nancy Burningham; son in-law Richard Gaetzman; brothers in-law Herschel Neff and Jim Moen. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If so desired, any memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
