Obituary of Debora (Johns) Gaus

On behalf of the family, we announce the unexpected and sudden death of their dear wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend; Saturday, August 26, 2017 Debora "Shorty" (Johns) Gaus of Wainwright, Alberta passed away while in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 55 years. She will be lovingly remembered as a great mom, superb sense of humour and huge, generous heart. Shorty was a strong woman...fair but firm and will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike Gaus; sons, Jamie Johns and his children, Rebecca, Julia, Anna and David Longpré, Ron (Sara) Johns and their children, Eden, Gracie, Wylder and Ryder Gosselin, Cory Johnson and his children, Cohen and Braylin Johnson; step-daughters, Jessica Gaus and Kayla Gaus-Nicholson; daughter-in-law, Katherine Longpré; parents-in-law, Ron and Marg Gaus; sisters, Jeri (Ron Fuscko) Thomson, Barbara (Bob) Fadden, Diana (Ian) Clark; sisters-in-law, Deb Sachs, Patti Barasa and Linda (Jeff) Miller; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends. Shorty was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Rita; two brothers, Ron "Chico" Ford and Jimmy Johns; and brother-in-law, Don Thomson. If friends so desire, memorial donations would be gratefully received at Canadian Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Association or Breathe, The Lung Association. A Funeral Service in honour of Shorty will take place Saturday, September 2, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Prairie Rose Senior's Centre in Wainwright, Alberta with a reception to follow.
