Don and I – Bill are very sad at the loss of our "big stepsister" she was one of the old generation – full of energy, not afraid of anything and a very great person with tremendous character. Her children are a testimony to that. I will miss her phone calls scolding me to have a better diet. All our love. Bill and Don.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Holt family. I have never eaten a better meal than Josie bringing out something for coffee break or lunch. I always tell the city folk, she gave us five squares a day. Not a lie. Some were ate sitting on a rock or a horse. The breakfast table in the morning and dinner table at night. The late night snack. She still found time to go to Viking or Irma during the day to get things done. I would like to think that a big part of my work ethic came from her.

I have lost a great friend in Josie who I met in 1955. I have some fond stories of my times and experiences with her to share. Ask me sometime. Be it sufficient to say now, that I lit up when I saw, her and there is now a huge hole in my life which Josie filled. My deepest sympathies go out to the Holt Family. I regret that I am in England, unable to attend her funeral.

Sending our thoughts and prayers to the Holt families during this difficult time. I have lots of great memories of our family visits at Aunt Josie and Uncle Phil’s with all the cousins. All of the original siblings had the best laughs and there were many to be heard at the get togethers. Many cherished moments. Josie was always so sweet! Whenever she came to the Shell she would always ask how I was doing! She was faithful at hockey games to watch and glowed when talking of her grandchildren! She will be greatly missed! ❤❤ Sending all the love and hugs to family! ❤

I sure am grateful that Aunt Josie and my dad kept in touch when our families were young. The Holt's were our favorite cousins as we always had so much fun together. Aunt Josie would be cheerfully busy with cooking for everyone, including her garden produce. I remember us all laughing around their kitchen table . These are some of my favourite childhood memories. Later, I took my own family to visit and she and Uncle Phil were just as hospitable as always. She had such a cheerful laugh and always let me know she was fond of me. It has been wonderful to get close to her as an adult. She leaves behind a big hole in the family. Sincere Sympathy and big hugs to all the Holt family. Love ya. Shannon and Stan Ulrich
