Obituary of Mervin Edwin O'Neil

On Wednesday August 21 2019, Mervin Edwin O'Neil passed away at the age of 66 years old peacefully in his home, Vermilion, AB of cardiac arrest. He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife of 28 years Lynn (Jensen) O'Neil; children Daphne O'Neil, Leon (Angi) Jensen, Shawna (Jesse) Hofer, Ebony Jensen; grandchildren Sidhierra, Dallas, Blake, Maisi, Haidyn and Jak. As well as his brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by parents Eddy and Maisie O'Neil. Mervin was born in Melfort SK on September 1st 1952. He proved himself to be a true survivor from the get go overcoming polio. He never let it define him and was known to be "tough for a little guy". He was charismatic, charming and had a way with words. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh. Being a natural born storyteller and always the life of the party, was just one of the many qualities that made him such a good grandpa and dad. If you knew Merv, chances are you had a story involving him or recall one that he told. He enjoyed spending time with his family and getting company. He always knew when company was coming because you would see him at the window and he'd greet you at the door. He loved all of his grandchildren more than anything and was very proud of them and his children. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebrations of his life will be held at a later date
