Grace and Family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I remember the days that I worked for Russ at Security, a person didn't know if he was joking or serious. To our wonderful Turtle Lake Family (not just neighbors)!! Grace,Ross,Lena,Andrea,Cam,Zachariah,Hannah,Liam,Jared&Clay. We are so sorry for your great loss. Russ will be dearly missed. For over 40 years @ Turtle Lake, each morning that any of us would step out the door, we knew we would be greeted by Russ who was usually on his deck enjoying the morning. How he loved to sit and watch the lake. There will be a big void without his witty nature and presence on Horseshoe Bay! All Our Love, Carmen, Michael, Kaiden & Sawyer

I have the greatest memory of Russ. Just this past summer Stacy and I stopped and played a game of Crib with Ross and Russ. It turned out that Russ lost, which he did not like to do.Ross kept in honest and we all laughed. It was a great time and what a good memory. To Grace, Andrea, Ross and families remember the good times with Russ. He had a rewarding career,raised great kids, and lived the way he wanted. His grand children will smile at some of his ways and habits,especially as the years go by. We will all miss him at the lake. Our thoughts are with all of you at this time. Sinerely Des and Inie

Grace - it's been 45+ years since we last had contact. I guess that's what happens when time and space intervene. So sorry to hear about Russ. Wasn't aware that he had passed until reading the RCMP Quarterly obituaries. Seems from the photos on this website that you guys had quite a family. Hello Mrs. Black. This is the girl your sweet husband taught to walk and talk. Pictures of you two still flash through my mind. Mostly it's around your white horse the four of us kids rode astride. A million years ago. I'm so sorry for your terrible loss. When/if the time comes and you find yourself in Calgary please look up Brian and Jean's daughter.
