On behalf of the Calgary Highlanders and our Association,please accept our condolences on the passing of John Perkins, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Like many of his generation he put aside the safety and comforts of life to serve our country in a long and cruel war. Those of us who have had the privilege of growing up in post-war Canada owe John, and others of his generation, an immense debt. Lillian & all the Perkins Families. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of John. He was a great father in-law, always there when you needed him. He worked hard and had a good life. He got to see his grandchildren grow up and got to meet a few of his great grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. You have many memories of John, share them with those that loved him, this will keep his memory alive. We will be unable to attend the service tomorrow due to prior commitments. But my thoughts will be with you all.
