While I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Peggy very well personally I was lucky enough to have known her as a colleague through the Chamber network. I was terribly sad to hear of her passing. To her family and friends; may you find comfort in each other in this difficult time. God Bless,
Tracy Acorn

'Miss. Gordon' was my grade 5 teacher in Wainwright. She was one of the good ones, always had a smile on her face and an infectious positive attitude. I would visit her from time to time throughout high school and always enjoy or quick chats. My condolences to her loved ones.

Peggy Lapinsky (Gordon) and I were teachers, team-teachers and colleagues at WES (Wainwright Elementary School). I guess I first knew her when she took over substitute teaching for my son‘s Grade 6 class. I believe that was her first teaching experience and then she was hired to teach Grade 5 full time.
Anyway a couple years later, she came to me with an idea of starting an after-school enrichment class – she had found an ad for funding by Science Alberta called ADP (Alberta Discovery Program). A few courses later, after learning to make robotics and rockets, the WES ADP Math and Science After-School Program began. It meant working closely together and team-teaching is quite different to regular teaching so there were continual adjustments to be made. But we did it. I would say it was a very worthwhile program judging from student and parent feedback – it was fun!
I came to really admire Peggy for her professional teaching qualities (she had the science background) and our personal friendship that developed. She was a genuine, compassionate and caring person.
Then we moved to Manitoba and although we did not talk nearly so much our friendship was always there. Our son remained in Wainwright, and I visited many times with Peggy when I returned to town. She was already talking about leaving Wainwright but her elderly parents needed her and she cared for both of them until the end.
I regret not getting to her wedding. I own a greenhouse and the wedding was at our busiest time in the spring. I wish now that I had taken the time… We did have a chance to get together over coffee a few years ago to rekindle our friendship and talk about old times.
I will not be able to make the service on Friday so I guess this is my goodbye. Farewell dear friend, I will miss you!
To Steve, Alvin and Linda and her family, my sincere condolences.

Dear Steve, Alvin, Carol, Matt, all of Peggy's family and friends,
I can hardly express the depth of my sorrow for the sudden loss of such a beautiful strong bright friendly sweet and no nonsense young woman -Peggy. She was a special friend that I met in college in 1987 who held strong through first year sciences with me and survived! She patiently taught me the differences between grain types and cow breeds. Peggy even charmed my two girls in to flying with her up over Camrose. She was determined to get her flying license and always felt close to God up over the clouds. Robbie Burns Day, the Edgerton Museum and Fair and countless other community events ran all the more smoothly with Peggy's touch. Family was extremely important as she watched over her Mom and Dad until they went to Heaven. And her love of kitty cats, MASH and the Backstreet Boys speaks for itself. My daughters Kyla and Beth both were honored to have Peggy as their godmother. I will miss Peggy's genuine self and her cheering for the Flames. I don't know why God takes such special people so early, but I do thank Him for bringing Peggy in to my life. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. Sincerely, Donna and family.

Steve, Alvin, Linda and Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Peggy was a co-worker at Finning but I thought of her more than that, she was my friend. Peggy would come and sit herself down by my desk and we would have a really good chat. She loved her new home and talked about all the plans she had for it. She loved Steve so much and was content. May you find peace and strength as you hold onto the wonderful memories of Peggy, she will truly be missed.

Our hearts go out to you all. Peggy was such a beautiful person, we always thought the world of her for all the help and assistance she extended to our bright light, Irven. They shared many laughs and she was always there if anything was ever needed. To lose someone so suddenly is truly difficult; may you find warmth and comfort knowing that in her short time here, she created impactful moments for many that will never be forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Peggy was a co-worker that I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know in recent years. We had many conversations about her love for her work and their move to the Stony Plain area. I will always remember Peggy for her kindness and caring ways and she will be missed by many. My heart goes out to friends and family at this very difficult time.

Steve, Alvin, Carol, Matt and all of Peggy's family and friends,
Our sincere condolences on your loss of such a sweet strong gentle fiercely loyal talented beautiful loving kind lady, Peggy. I met her my first year at CLC in the sciences. She took me in and taught me about farm life, what a city kid aught to know...(and sent me home with Oliver, the kitten). She hugged my baby girls as she became their God mother. And oooooooh, how she loved to fly. She said she felt closest to God up in the sky. I don't understand why God takes people home to Heaven so young, but I do know He is holding her close. She is with her mom and dad and all of her family and friends that made the journey to Heaven ahead of us. Know we are keeping you close in our thoughts and prayers, Sincerely, Donna and family.
