To Karen and the Roberts Family, I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss and although I never actually had the pleasure of meeting Doug in person, the generous support and kindness he showed regarding a proposed incinerator project in our area was such an enormous help to both me and my community and for that I will never forget him. Karen and family, Roberts cousins and families, Tears come freer than words. What to say? Simply, Dennis and I care deeply about each of you as you ride this emotional, physical, spiritual roller coaster, each in your own personal manner and time, and we will continue to care about you. Some of our special memories of Doug include camping and fishing at Touchwood Lake, being quite nervous about accepting Doug's invitation to take a ride on his catamaran on the chilly wavy lake and in spite of getting wet and cold we still smile at the memory, finding out that we could, quite comfortably in fact, hold his pet porcupine on our laps and learning about his dedicated and effective environmental concerns for the welfare of others. May you each be blessed with loving support of many to comfort and strengthen you. And especially, may you come to know God's peace that passes all understanding.
