Obituary of Nancy Marguerite Showers

Nancy was born Jan 23, 1928 in Regina and passed away peacefully in her sleep in the Lloydminster Hospital on Feb 11, 2023 at the age of 95 years. She has 4 surviving children; Ann, Linda, Marion (Doug) and Dan (Rita). She also leaves to mourn numerous family members including children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and extended family.

She grew up on the Bell family farm and married Elmo Showers in 1950 in Lloydminster. They lived on the Showers family farm at Spruce Bluff until retiring in 1974. She was always working hard setting a good example for her family. They lived in Lloydminster until Elmo’s passing in 1981. She later reunited with a long-time friend, Lou Regnier who became her partner in life until his passing in Dec 2014. Lou mentioned several times that he had asked Nancy out and it took her 40 years to accept.

She was also predeceased by a Granddaughter, a Grandson and a Great Granddaughter.

Her love for animals was always evident as was their reciprocating affection. She loved the outdoors, fishing, photography, travelling and dancing.

Nancy spoke her mind and maintained her quick wit right to the end.

Nancy had the wonderful staff of Points West assisting her for the past 8 years of her life.

A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held on August 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Spruce Lake Community Hall.
