Obituary of John Gregory Savoy

After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Greg passed away peacefully at the

Lloydminster Hospital with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Eunice (Newbatt) and Robert Savoy, as well

as his step-father, Gaius Hutchison and his father-in-law, Henry Schick.

He is survived by his partner of many years, Linda Schick; his children Joshua (Angie)

Savoy, Jordan Savoy, Jannah (Eric) Smith, Jennifer and Darcy Mannix; his grandchildren

Viola, Brennan, and Gregory (GG) Savoy, Archie Smith, William, Austin, Marshall, Braiden,

Jordan, Nicholas and Jackson Mannix; his brothers Rob (Aurora), Michael (Linda), Joe

(Marguerite) and Mark (Adrienne); his sister, Betty (Jeff) Kennah; his aunt Betty Newbatt; his

brother-in-laws Mark, Darryl (Myrna) and Bradley (Jill) Schick; mother-in-law Sherran Schick;

a very special niece Leslie Simpson; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and good friends near

and far.

Growing up in Tabusintac, New Brunswick, Greg relocated to Lloydminster, Alberta later in

life. Greg is remembered as a skilled tradesman and lover of fishing. He was an avid Boston

Bruins and Toronto Blue Jays fan and also enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

Upon Greg’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. In memory of Greg, donations can

be made to the Tabustinac Riverside Cemetery or the Royal Canadian Legion of Tabusintac, Branch 47.
