Obituary of Sandy Macmillan

It is with sadness, but with gratitude for a life well lived, that the family of Sandy MacMillan of Vermilion announce his passing on March 30, 2011. Sandy was born April 29, 1923 in Benbecula, Scotland. He was predeceased by his loving wife Helen (2002), grandsons Andrew Bendfeld (1983) and Jace MacMillan (1984), his brother Angus (1981) and his parents John and Dolina. He is remembered and sadly missed by his family Dona Mae (Dennis) Bendfeld of Thorsby, Neil (Lan Zhi) MacMillan of Camrose, Ronald (Bonnie) MacMillan of Ponoka, James MacMillan (Corina Packham) of Courtney, B.C. and Colin (Christine) MacMillan of Vermilion; twelve grandchildren, Caron, Leah, Allyson, Joren, Ian, Randy, Conor, Kristen, Doug, Sean, Courtney, Ryan; four great grandchildren Edyn, Jace, Bright and Alexander; sister-in-law Gladys Sjorstrom and many nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held Monday, April 4th at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Vermilion at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Name on Tuesday, April 5th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Andrews Catholic cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS, St. Andrews Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
