Obituary of Gene Russell

On Sunday, February 21, 2016 Mr Patrick "Gene" Russell of Edgerton, Alberta passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 61 years, after a brave battle with cancer. Gene is survived by his wife, Patricia Hawkins of Edgerton; three children, Penny (Ryan) Prior of Guelph, Ontario, Jason (Julie) Russell of Whitby, Ontario, Sean (Ramona Alldis) Russell of Hughenden, Alberta; two step-daughters, Christina MacLeod of Vancouver, British Columbia, Cathie MacLeod of Vancouver; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda (Mike) Russell of Dalhousie, New Brunswick, Evelyn (Maurice) Philippe of Dalhousie. He was predeceased by his parents, Lydia Mallais and Emery Russell. A Celebration of life for the late Gene Russell will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Royal Canadian Legion, Wainwright with Reverend Ann Marie Nicklin officiating. If so desired the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
